If you have any questions regarding your application, please contact The Advanced Genomics Collaboration Innovation Project team via admin@tagcaustralia.com.
Through our three core enabling platforms and the COLUMN initiative, we are providing collaborators with access to faster, more affordable sequencing, global-scale bioinformatics, insightful health economics resources and biomedical industry commercialisation expertise.
If you have an idea for a collaboration or leveraged funding opportunity, get in touch.
Any open opportunities for collaboration will be advertised on this page.
Recruitment is an important part of building up our genomics workforce and capabilities, to establish ourselves as a biomedical and economic powerhouse for Australia.
PhD Opportunity | GenI-AIRSPACE project: Personalised Genomic Active Surveillance in Prostate Cancer
The multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer Research Group, situated in the Department of Surgery (RMH) and the Centre for Cancer Research, is looking for a graduate researcher with a background in oncology research, genomics, bioinformatics, health economics or health literacy or related discipline interested in completing a full-time PhD in this area.
A top-up scholarship is available for this opportunity.
The project is investigating the use of genomics for personalised surveillance in prostate cancer patients:
The PhD program can be tailored to the candidate’s interest within these funded areas.
PhD Scholarship Opportunity | Improving women's health outcomes through genomics project
The University of Melbourne Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Newborn Health has two PhD scholarship opportunities available using genomics to pioneer new solutions for patients with common endometrial related health problems.
PhD Scholarship Opportunity 1 – Improving treatment stratification for women with early-stage endometrial cancer using Next Gen Sequencing (NGS)
An exciting PhD opportunity for a multidisciplinary NGS project which aims to develop an endometrial cancer and hyperplasia NGS screening tool to improve patient treatment options. The aims of the research are:
The student will join the Gynaecology Research Group based at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Newborn Health, University of Melbourne and will work across the Royal Women’s Hospital, Parkville and the University’s Parkville Campus.
PhD Scholarship Opportunity 2 – Elucidating the role of VEZT in human endometrium and endometriosis.
Join a multidisciplinary project which aims to evaluate the functional roles of VEZT overexpression in normal human endometrial tissue, cells and endometriosis lesion formation.
The aims of the research are:
The student will join the Gynaecology Research Group based at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Newborn Health, University of Melbourne and will work across the Royal Women’s Hospital, Parkville and the University’s Parkville Campus.
Through our internship program, and potential scholarship, research or learning opportunities, we aim to equip the next generation of researchers with the skills to lead the genomics revolution.
Any student opportunities available with TAGC or relevant areas within Illumina and The University of Melbourne will be advertised on this page.
